This is a superb looking partial slice of a Dhofar 492 classified meteorite weighing 7.15 grams and measuring 35x20x4 mm. This rare H classified meteorite was found in Oman in 2001. The total weight of the single piece recovered is recorded as a very low 281 grams. This meteorite has a weathering grade of 3, with no shock level recorded. This rare meteorite is 1 of only 114 approved meteorites classified as H, the majority of which were discovered in Antarctica.
This piece displays extremely well and would be a great addition to any new or existing collection. Comes with a Canagem Collection specimen card.

Here's a beautiful cluster of glassy green diopside crystals from Otter Lake, Québec. The specimen is made up of about six inter grown diopside crystals with some small attached biotite mica crystals. The largest diopside is 2.5cm across x 3.5cm. This is a floater specimen and all crystals are complete. The specimen is in excellent condition. The diopside crystals are prismatic habit with complex terminations. It has a nice luster and lovely green color. Would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection.

This Diopside specimen, collected in 2002, is from the Jeffrey Mine in Asbestos (now Val-des-Sources), Québec, which is a classic Canadian mineral locality. The crystals are typically green to pale green, colorless or grayish-green, and can be quite transparent and glassy. They commonly occur as slender prismatic or very flat, blade-like crystals, sometimes with strong vertical striations. Some of the Jeffrey Mine diopside is particularly attractive because the crystals are transparent and sharply formed.
Diopside is especially interesting at Jeffrey Mine because it occurs with other well-known minerals from the locality, particularly grossular garnet, vesuvianite, prehnite and wollastonite. Diopside specimens from the mine are now increasingly difficult to obtain, since the Jeffrey Quarry is closed.
