Crystals & Minerals
$11.00 CAD
Unit price perThis is a beautiful black Biotite crystal book from the Calcite Vein-Dikes of the Grenville Geological Province Ontario, Canada. This specimen is a great example of both the classic crystal shape and attractive dark coloration.
Biotite is rarely considered a valuable mineral specimen, but it can accompany other minerals and compliment them. In Bancroft, Ontario, Biotite forms large crystals with green apatite and hornblende. Single large plates or "books" of biotite can grow to considerable size and can make impressive mineral specimens.
Stand not included.

Unit price perThis is a beautiful combination of Calcite and Stilbite on Apophyllite crystal cluster.
Calcite is found throughout the world in sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks. Some geologists consider it to be a "ubiquitous mineral" - one that is found everywhere. Calcite is the principal constituent of limestone and marble. Stilbite is perhaps the most popular zeolite mineral for collectors. Stilbite is a handsome specimen with its pearly luster and sometimes colorful pink tints. Apophyllite is transparent to translucent and is commonly found in colorless or white varieties, although it can also occur in shades of green, pink, yellow, or brown.
This nice crystal specimen would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection.
Name: Calcite, Stilbite and Apophyllite cluster
Specimen Size: Sized
Dimensions: 62x59x46 mm / 2.4x2.3x1.8 inches
Weight: 185 grams / 6.5 ounces
Origin: Mined in Jalgaon, India
Lazulite is a beautiful and relatively rare mineral that is known for its striking azure-blue to violet-blue color, which can be quite intense. It often occurs as well-formed prismatic crystals or in granular masses. The name "lazulite" is derived from the Persian word "lazaward," which means blue.
While not as widely recognized as some other blue minerals, lazulite's vibrant color and rarity make it a mineral of interest. This beautiful crystal would be a great addition to any new or existing collection.

Unit price perThis is a whole, uncut lava coated volcanic bombs from Mortlake, Victoria, Australia . On this specimen, there are beautiful iridescent olivine crystals growing on the outside of the lava crust. This piece is complete and can be showcased as is or it can be opened to show the interior. The lava is most likely covering green olivine crystals.
An olivine volcanic bomb is a type of volcanic rock that contains olivine crystals and has been ejected during a volcanic eruption. Olivine is a mineral that is commonly found in the Earth's mantle and is one of the first minerals to crystallize as magma cools.
Volcanic bombs are large clots of lava that are ejected from a volcano during an explosive eruption. They can vary in size, and their shapes are often streamlined due to their molten nature as they are thrown through the air. When these volcanic bombs contain olivine crystals, they are referred to as olivine volcanic bombs.

Unit price perThis is a natural cluster formation of large calcite crystals with hematite inclusions. This piece has some white color to translucent crystals with areas of orange/red coloring from hematite inclusions, with sharp tabular crystal formations. There are some nicks and imperfections on a few crystals but would still shine in the proper setup. They don't take away from how interesting this piece is. Would be a nice addition to any new or existing collection.

Unit price perWe have for you a small floater crystal of gypsum var Selenite in a perky box found 1962 in Ellsworth Mahoning County, Ohio U.S.A..
Gypsum is one of the more common minerals in sedimentary environments. It is a major rock forming mineral that produces massive beds, usually from precipitation out of highly saline waters. Since it forms easily from saline water, gypsum can have many inclusions of other minerals and even trapped bubbles of air and water.
This specimen has no damage and will ship in its protective display box.

Unit price perPseudomorphs are mineral specimens that have the external shape of one mineral but are composed of another. The pseudomorph goethite after marcasite forms when marcasite is exposed to oxidizing conditions and starts to oxidize and break down. As the marcasite breaks down, goethite replaces it in the crystal structure, preserving the shape of the original marcasite crystal. The resulting specimen appears as a marcasite crystal, but is actually composed of goethite.
The Farafra Oasis, in the White Desert, has been known for a number of years to deliver incredible pseudomorph specimens. The pseudomorphs occur within the Cretaceous Khoman Chalk, from which the White Desert derives its name.
These specimens are remarkable for their relatively sharp marcasite crystal forms in aesthetic crystal clusters. They are in excellent condition. This collector's specimen is unique, of great quality and ready for display.
