$83.00 CAD
Unit price perRichland Fredericksburg Meteorite | 6.2 Grams Part Slice | IIAB Iron | Texas
$83.00 CAD
Unit price perThis is a rare and great looking Richland meteorite part slice weighing 6.2 grams. Its dimensions are 18x11x6 mm. This IIAB classified Iron meteorite was first found near Fredericksburg., Texas USA in 2000. Total weight of this find is set at 50.6 Kg.
A 47 kg iron meteorite was reportedly found near Fredericksburg, Texas. Chemical analysis showed that it is indistinguishable from Richland, a 13.6 kg IIAB iron that was found ~300 km away. It is likely that these meteorites are paired and that one (or both) masses were transported by humans from their original find locations. Henceforth, the name Fredericksburg shall be an unofficial synonym for Richland. The new mass may be referred to as "Richland (Fredericksburg)." A total of 213 g is on deposit at UCLA.
This rare specimen would be an amazing addition to any new or existing collection. Will come with a Canagem® specimen card plus two original meteorite labels.
This is a large 196.3 gram uniquely shaped Rizolite Tektite, with a beautiful pitted body, from Rizo Region, Philippines. Although not a meteorite, tektite is directly linked to them or their impacts, just consider its age of around 780,000 years old.
Tektite is very interesting because of the persistent mystery that resisted clear explanations of their creation for generations of geologists. This piece displays very well and is a very nice size showing multiple characteristics of its origin.
This special piece comes with 2 specimen cards including the signed original Mark Bostick Collection. Would make a beautiful addition to any collection.
