Okenite is a silicate mineral that is usually associated with zeolites. It most commonly is found as small white "cotton ball" formations within basalt geodes. These formations are clusters of straight, radiating, fibrous crystals that are both bendable and fragile.

Calcite is found throughout the world in sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks. Some geologists consider it to be a "ubiquitous mineral" - one that is found everywhere. Calcite is the principal constituent of limestone and marble.

Quartz crystals are among the most abundant and well-known minerals on Earth. It belongs to the hexagonal crystal system, and typically forms six-sided prismatic crystals with a pointed termination. Its crystals can be colorless or exhibit a wide range of colors. Prehnite can form prismatic, tabular, or pyramidal crystals, but usually occurs in botryoidal, reniform, stalactitic, granular, or compact habits.  It is usually green in colour, but may be white, colourless, yellow, or gray.  It has a colourless streak.  Prehnite is transparent to translucent, with a vitreous to pearly luster.  Prehnite forms in cavities in basaltic lavas.

Quartz has been known and appreciated since pre-historic times. The varietal names, rock crystal and bergcrystal, preserve the ancient usage. The root words signifying ice cold and to contract (or solidify) suggest the ancient belief that kristallos was permanently solidified ice.

Rutilated quartz, is a variety of quartz with embedded needle-like rutile inclusions. The rutile needles can be reddish, golden, silvery, or very rarely greenish.  It is also known as Venus Hair Stone.

This is a very desirable crystal, it's clear and very showy on both sides of the matrix. Mined by hand, Himalayan Quartz Crystals are found at altitudes of 10,000 to 15,000 feet, high up in the Himalayan Mountains in an area near the border of Tibet and Nepal. These deposits might be the oldest deposits known in the world. The locals believe that these crystals are the “Eyes of God “ and that they hold the knowledge and wisdom of all past yogis and saints of the Buddhist and Hindu traditions. These crystals are carried on their backs by sherpas for great distances over and down the mountain trails to reach civilization.

Due to these facts, very few crystals ever reach the marketplace so they are much sought after by collectors.
