$142.00 CAD
Unit price perThis is a rare and fantastic 26.8 gram Libyan Desert Glass from Kuffra, Libya, with dimensions of 51x40x25 mm.
Although its exact origin is still debated, the leading theory suggests it was formed by a high-energy event, such as a meteoric impact or airburst, that melted the desert sand directly where it lay, without being ejected into the atmosphere and re-entering. This results in different physical characteristics compared to tektites. Libyan Desert Glass is found specifically in the Great Sand Sea of the Eastern Sahara, within a more localized area spanning parts of western Egypt and eastern Libya.
This piece displays extremely well and is a quality translucent specimen. It has an aesthetic shape with a beautiful wind eroded body from the years spent in the Desert. Would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection. Comes with a Canagem Collection specimen card.
This is a must have 17.8 gram Impactite from Norrbo, Sweden. Although not a meteorite, impactites are directly linked to them and their impacts and are probably going to be one of the rarest collection items you'll ever own. Impactite is a slag-like glassy object found on the surface of the earth, formed from rock melted by the impact of a meteorite.
The term impactite encompasses shock-metamorphosed target rocks, melts or suevites and mixtures of the two, as well as sedimentary rocks with significant impact-derived components and shocked mineral grains, tektites, anomalous geochemical signatures, etc. This impactite was formed approx. 89 million years ago when a meteorite crashed into the earth.
This gorgeous slice displays very well. It is amazingly light considering its mass of 42x38x9mm. Would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection. Comes with a Canagem Collection specimen card.
Here we have for you an amazing 1.2 grams premium shaped Irghizite Tektite from the Zhamanshi Crater in Kazakhstan. Its Dimensions are 28x8x5 mm. These specimen were first found in 2003 and date back 900,000 ± 100,000 years.
This stretched and twisted Irghizite is typical of this material. Unlike other Tektites which can be found hundreds of miles from their point of origin, this is found in and around the crater formed by the impacting body. In this case it is speculated to be of cometary origin due to analysis of the elements contained within the Irghizites and other impactite found in the crater which are called Zhamanshinite.
This piece displays very well and is a very nice size showing multiple characteristics of its origin. Would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection. Comes in a small specimen box and with a Canagem Collection specimen card.
NWA 2965 Fossil Meteorite | .48 Grams | Slice | Rare Enstatite EL-Melt Rock | Paleomet

Unit price perNWA 2965 Fossil Meteorite | .48 Grams | Slice | Rare Enstatite EL-Melt Rock | Paleomet
$18.00 CAD
Unit price perThis is a superb slice of the famous Northwest Africa 2965 meteorite, it weigh 0.48 grams and measures 21x17x0.8 mm. This is 1 of only 26 approved meteorites classified as EL-melt rock.
This North West Africa was first classified as an Enstatite EL6/7, then became an EL3 and finally ended up being classified an EL-Melt Rock meteorite; it was found along with the rest of the total mass of more than 100 Kilograms in the Algerian Desert in August 2005. This is one of the oldest meteorites on our planet in terms of terrestrial age and has been referred to as a fossil meteorite.
This Enstatite chondrite shock Level is minimal and weathering varies from 2 to 5. This piece displays extremely well and is a completely recrystallized enstatite chondrite with polygonal to irregular grain outlines. The grain size varies from 0.02 to 0.7 mm. Round, curved, blocky objects contain coarser-grained orthopyroxene than in the matrix. No relict chondrules were observed.
This hard to acquire piece displays very well with its diamond lap finish, it is a high quality specimen that would make an amazing addition to any new or existing collection. Comes with Canagem specimen card.
This is an individual Northwest Africa or NWA 4293 formerly known as NQ10, an H6 chondrite found in the Sahara desert in 2005. It is one of 5854 approved meteorites classified as such. The meteorite weighs 5.2 grams with dimensions of 25x16x10 mm.
This fascinating meteorite was mainly found as small individuals and the total weight of the 100's of pieces recovered is recorded as a low 25 kg. The meteorite has a shock stage of 4 and weathering grade of 2. NWA 4293 is interesting in the way it looks as can be seen in the images. Most pieces are free of caliche, have a smooth gray surface and are small complete individuals. The unusual appearance is due to shock hardening and being sandblasted in the desert.
This specimen comes with a Canagem specimen card. Would make a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection.

Unit price perThis is a must have 25.3 gram Impact Melt Rock from the Stac Fada Member Impact Structure, NW Scotland. It measures 74x31x6 mm.
This beautiful Impact melt rock comes from the Stac Fada impact structure in Scotland. The structure has an estimated age of about 1.2Ga (1,200 Ma). The Stac Fada Member of the Precambrian Stoer Group in Scotland has previously been described as volcanic in origin. However, shocked quartz and biotite provide evidence for high-pressure shock metamorphism, while chromium isotope values and elevated abundances of platinum group metals and siderophile elements indicate addition of meteoritic material. Thus, the unit is reinterpreted as having an impact origin.
This gorgeous slice displays very well. Would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection. Comes with two a Canagem Collection specimen card.

This is a beautiful black Biotite crystal book from the Calcite Vein-Dikes of the Grenville Geological Province Ontario, Canada. This biotite has classic crystal shape and attractive dark black coloration. This specimen is a great example of both.
Biotite is rarely considered a valuable mineral specimen, but it can accompany other minerals and compliment them. In Bancroft, Ontario Biotite forms large crystals with green apatite and hornblende. Single large plates or "books" of biotite can grow to considerable size and can make impressive mineral specimens.
