This is a beautiful Tourmaline, also known as schorl, on smoky quartz and matrix crystal cluster from Rollstone Hill Quarries, Fitchburg MA.  The specimen has many individual crystal faces. with the front, top and back covered with many sharp lustrous black tourmaline or schorl crystals that are in good condition.

Emeralds are prized for their vibrant green color which is caused by trace amounts of chromium, vanadium, and iron in the crystal structure of the gemstone.  On the Mohs scale of mineral hardness, emeralds have a rating of 7.5 to 8. This means that while they are relatively durable, they are not as hard as some other gemstones like diamonds or sapphires.  Colombia is a famous source of emeralds, along with Zambia, Brazil, Afghanistan, and Zimbabwe.

Emerald is believed to enhance love, compassion, and emotional healing, as well as promote mental clarity, intuition, and problem-solving abilities. Emerald is associated with balance, healing, prosperity, and abundance. It is also believed to aid in spiritual growth, connection, and protection against negative energies.

One of the distinguishing features of apophyllite is its ability to form well-defined crystals with a pyramid-like shape. These crystals often exhibit a prismatic or pseudo-cubic habit and have a vitreous luster. Apophyllite is transparent to translucent and is commonly found in colorless or white varieties, although it can also occur in shades of green, pink, yellow, or brown.

Quartz crystals are among the most abundant and well-known minerals on Earth. It belongs to the hexagonal crystal system, and typically forms six-sided prismatic crystals with a pointed termination. Its crystals can be colorless or exhibit a wide range of colors. The color variations are often due to the presence of impurities or trace elements during the crystal's formation. Quartz is transparent to translucent. 

Apophyllite is said to promote introspection into one's own behavior and the correction of imbalances or flaws that are perceived. This is a stone of truth, bringing recognition of one's true self and allowing that to be shown to the world. Apophyllite is said to have a calming effect, and to effectively reduce stress, releasing mental blockages and negative thought patterns. Apophyllite is also said to release suppressed emotion, to overcome anxiety, worries and fears. It calms apprehensions and allows uncertainty to be tolerated.

Quartz is said to be a power gemstone that harmonizes and balances; enhancing energy and thoughts as well as purifying the spiritual, mental and physical. Quartz is associated with the crown chakra.

Chalcopyrite and sphalerite crystal clusters are minerals that are often found together in nature. Chalcopyrite is a copper iron sulfide mineral, while sphalerite is a zinc sulfide mineral.

Chalcopyrite crystals typically exhibit a brassy yellow color and have a metallic luster. They often form in cubic or tetrahedral shapes and can display iridescent colors due to thin surface layers of other minerals. Sphalerite crystals, on the other hand, can range in color from pale yellow to brown, and sometimes even black. They have a resinous to adamantine luster and can form in various crystal habits, including dodecahedral, tetrahedral, and cubic.

Chalcopyrite is believed to amplify energy, attract abundance, promote positive thinking, provide spiritual grounding, and offer protection. Sphalerite is associated with transformation, vitality, emotional healing, intuition, and manifestation.

This is a rare and fantastic 7.2 gram Libyan Desert Glass from Kuffra, Libya, with dimensions of 36x12x23 mm. 

Although its exact origin is still debated, the leading theory suggests it was formed by a high-energy event, such as a meteoric impact or airburst, that melted the desert sand directly where it lay, without being ejected into the atmosphere and re-entering. This results in different physical characteristics compared to tektites​. Libyan Desert Glass is found specifically in the Great Sand Sea of the Eastern Sahara, within a more localized area spanning parts of western Egypt and eastern Libya.

This is a great looking Russian Sikhote-Alin classified meteorite weighing 34.77 grams. Its dimensions are 34x20X17 mm. This Iron (IIAB) Coarsest Octahedrite classified meteorite was recovered in Russia after the fall of February 12, 1947.

So far approximately 23 tons of this material have been recovered. This piece displays extremely well and is a very desirable size. These specimens are known as shrapnel specimens, ripped and torn edges reminiscent of bomb shrapnel. They broke due to atmospheric pressure and/or mid-air collisions, and possibly explosive fragmentation upon impact. These pieces are a good example of the shrapnel type Sikhote-Alin.

This is a fabulous 10.45 gram Sericho Pallasite Main Group meteorite, it measures 22x20x14.  In 2016, two brothers were searching for their camels and came across several large, dense stones west of the village of Habaswein and south of Sericho, Kenya.  Though recognized as meteorites in 2016, the masses had been known to camel-herders for decades. One village elder said that as a child, he and his brothers would play on top of the stones.  It is classified as an Iron Pallasite main group with low weathering and is 1 of only 68 approved meteorites classified as such, with a recovered weight of about 2.8 T.

This piece displays extremely well and is a nice size showing great features. Would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection. Comes with a Canagem Collection specimen card.
