Authentic Moldavite | 3.42 Grams 17.1 Ct. | Impactite Melt Glass | Chlum Region, Czech Republic | SO24

This is a rare and fantastic 17.10 Ct. or 3.42 grams Moldavite Melt Glass impactite found in Chlum Region, Czech Republic, in 2004.  It has dimensions of 22x20x7mm. 

Moldavite is a green/olive earthen melt glass, created by a massive Meteorite Impact at the Noerdlinger Ries in Bavaria, Germany, about 14.8 million years ago.  This molten globules then rained down after their space flight in the Moldau River Valley, north of Prague in the Czech Republic. Hence the name Moldavite. They were discovered at the end of the 18th century.

This piece displays extremely well and is a quality translucent specimen worthy of only the best collections. It has an aesthetic shape with a beautiful pitted body. Would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection. Comes with a Canagem Collection specimen card.
