Unit price perHenbury Impact Glass | Vesicular Impactite | 15.2 Gr | Awesome Rare | Henbury N.T. Australia | SO24
$29.97 CAD
Unit price perThis is an outstanding Impact Melt Glass specimen or bomb weighing 15.2 grams. Its dimensions are 45x34x25 mm. Although not a meteorite, impactites are directly linked to them and their impacts.
This Henbury glass or more specifically vesicular impactite was found in the Northern Territory of Australia. Eight miles southwest of the town of Henbury, 13 craters were found, the largest of which was 720 x 360 feet. This impactite was formed years ago when many meteorites crashed into the earth making all those craters which produced the impact glass.
Impactite is a slag-like glassy object found on the surface of the earth, formed from rock melted by the impact of a meteorite. The term encompasses shock-metamorphosed target rocks, melts or suevites and mixtures of the two, as well as sedimentary rocks with significant impact-derived components and shocked mineral grains, tektites, anomalous geochemical signatures, etc.
This piece displays extremely well. It is amazingly light considering its mass. It has a unique hollow sound when you tap it. This Australian find is very well shaped and preserved. These pieces are becoming more difficult to acquire so this is a good time to get a fine specimen. Would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection. Will come with a Canagem specimen card.

This is a specimen of Star Mica or Muscovite and Quartz cluster. On this specimen, there is a large terminated clear quartz point nestled into the gold mica stars.
These clusters show crystals that grow in sheets or book formations. It is silvery gold with good transparency when held up to the light. The name Muscovite comes from the term Muscovy Glass which was a name for the thick sheets of Mica used as a substitute for glass Russia. The name Mica is derived from the Greek word that means to split.
On this nice specimen, the matrix faces are covered with beautiful golden yellow point stars of muscovite mica, a typical shape for this rare mica formation. The stars are the result of twinning; the points show a bit of wear but this does not detract from the beauty of such a piece.

$81.12 CAD
Unit price perThis is a great looking Russian Sikhote-Alin classified meteorite weighing 29.5 grams. Its dimensions are 35x25x15 mm. This Iron (IIAB) Coarsest Octahedrite classified meteorite was recovered in Russia after the fall of February 12, 1947.
So far approximately 23 tons of this material have been recovered. This piece displays extremely well and is a very desirable size. These specimens are known as shrapnel specimens, ripped and torn edges reminiscent of bomb shrapnel. They broke due to atmospheric pressure and/or mid-air collisions, and possibly explosive fragmentation upon impact. These pieces are a good example of the shrapnel type Sikhote-Alin.

This is an individual Northwest Africa or NWA 4293 formerly known as NQ10, an H6 chondrite found in the Sahara desert in 2005. It is one of 5854 approved meteorites classified as such. The meteorite weighs 4.5 grams with dimensions of 21x18x9 mm.
This fascinating meteorite was mainly found as small individuals and the total weight of the 100's of pieces recovered is recorded as a low 25 kg. The meteorite has a shock stage of 4 and weathering grade of 2. NWA 4293 is interesting in the way it looks as can be seen in the images. Most pieces are free of caliche, have a smooth gray surface and are small complete individuals. The unusual appearance is due to shock hardening and being sandblasted in the desert.
This specimen comes with a Canagem specimen card. Would make a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection.

Impact Breccia Slice | 364 Grams | Golden Metal Veining Impactite | Sudbury Structure, Canada | SO24
$394.00 CAD
Unit price perImpact Breccia Slice | 364 Grams | Golden Metal Veining Impactite | Sudbury Structure, Canada | SO24
$394.00 CAD
Unit price perThis is a must have huge 364-gram Metal Ore Copper rich Impact Breccia slice from the famous Sudbury Astrobleme Impact Structure in Ontario, Canada. Its dimensions are 127x104x10 mm. Although not a meteorite, impactites are directly linked to them and their impacts and are probably going to be one of the rarest collection pieces you'll ever own.
Mark Bostick wrote "About 1.87 billion years ago, an object from space nine kilometers in diameter slammed into Canada, a little north of Sudbury, Ontario creating the second largest impact structure on the earth. This impact was equivalent to a billion tons of TNT. An impact so big it cracked the earth, and in fact there are still earthquakes because of that event today! The many mineral rich deposits and strange rock formations in such close proximity has attracted attention for 100's of years, long before its impact origin was known.
Note that this is not a meteorite but a slice of Earth rock, altered by a meteorite impact. A very, very large meteorite. This came from the ring of the impact and is the harder to find gold-copper-bronze colored impactite described as a metal-rich breccia and sulfides composed chiefly of some amount of iridium, cobalt & selenium. In addition, most of these specimens will nickel, iron, sperrylite and pentlandite as well as minor amounts of other metals, metallic & silicate minerals."
This is a spectacular piece and would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection. Comes with a Canagem Collection specimen card.
