Zircon comes in a variety of colors, including blue, yellow, green, brown, and red, and is renowned for its exceptional brilliance.  It is found in many locations worldwide, including Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Australia. Some of the oldest zircon crystals have been dated to be over 4 billion years old, making them among the oldest minerals on Earth.

Zircon has a hardness of 6.5 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale, making it durable enough for use in various types of jewelry. However, care should be taken to avoid sharp blows and extreme temperatures.

Zircon is associated with promoting spiritual growth, mental clarity, and prosperity. It is also thought to enhance self-confidence and provide protection.

It's important to note the distinction between natural zircon and cubic zirconia. Natural zircon is a genuine gemstone, while cubic zirconia is a synthetic material often used as a diamond simulant.

You will receive 1 Sikhote-Alin individual fragment contained in a display gem jar.  Each of these meteorite fragments is unique; variations in size and shape should be expected.  Note the specimen shown in the photos represent a small selection of what we have in stock, the size and shape of the specimen we send will vary. 

This is a nice specimen of the famous fall Sikhote Alin from Russia, ready for a collection starter or gift giving. This Iron (IIAB) Coarsest Octahedrite classified meteorite was recovered in Russia after the fall of February 12, 1947. So far approximately 23 tons of this material have been recovered.

These specimens are known as shrapnel specimens, ripped and torn edges reminiscent of bomb shrapnel. They broke due to atmospheric pressure and/or mid-air collisions, and possibly explosive fragmentation upon impact. These pieces are very rare and are a good example of the shrapnel type Sikhote-Alin. Each shows very well and are a perfect size to proudly display in your collection.
