Here we have for you a great looking end cut of a Sahara Desert NWA unclassified meteorite weighing 6.1 grams. Its dimensions are 21x14x12 mm. This never classified North West Africa stone was found in Erfoud, Morocco in the Sahara desert in 2002.

It's a very good quality cut NWA meteorite specimen showing incredibly  interesting internal structure (L5?) and somewhat attractive with a mottled interior with chondrules and metallic flakes. This complete cut has very large iron inclusions, many chondrules and a nice black fusion crust.  Little weathering shows the meteorite's short time spent aging in the desert preserving a nice crusted look. Displays very nicely with a clean cut and polished finish.

Would be a great addition to any new or existing collection. Comes with a Canagem Collection specimen card.

This is a must have 28.9 gram Impact Breccia also referred to as Suevite coming from the famous Rochechouart impact structure in South Western France, near the village of Montoume.  Although not a meteorite, impactites are directly linked to them and their impacts and are probably going to be one of the rarest collection items you'll ever own. Impactite is a slag-like glassy object found on the surface of the earth, formed from rock melted by the impact of a meteorite.

Named after the town of Rochechouart, the Rochechouart impact structure is located on the western margin of the French Massif Central near the city of Limoges, approximately 350 km (220 mi) south of Paris.  Rochechouart (population about 3800) is built with rocks created or modified by the impact (impactites).

The term impactite encompasses shock-metamorphosed target rocks, melts or suevites and mixtures of the two, as well as sedimentary rocks with significant impact-derived components and shocked mineral grains, tektites, anomalous geochemical signatures, etc. This impactite was formed 186 million years ago.   This deformed rock fragments and partly molten are imbedded in a melt matrix showing typical flow structures from former melt.

This gorgeous slice displays very well with a mass of 59x40x7 mm. Would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection. Comes with a Canagem Collection specimen card.

This is a great looking Gao-Guenie H5 classified meteorite slice weighing 1.03 grams. Its dimensions are 15x12x2 mm and it has a crusted edge. 

This H5 classified meteorite was observed falling at about 17:00 March 5, 1960 near the village of Gao in Africa. There is no total known weight recorded for this meteorite.

An olivine volcanic bomb is a type of volcanic rock that contains olivine crystals and has been ejected during a volcanic eruption. Olivine is a mineral that is commonly found in the Earth's mantle and is one of the first minerals to crystallize as magma cools.

Volcanic bombs are large clots of lava that are ejected from a volcano during an explosive eruption. They can vary in size, and their shapes are often streamlined due to their molten nature as they are thrown through the air. When these volcanic bombs contain olivine crystals, they are referred to as olivine volcanic bombs.

This piece has been cut to showcase the beautiful green olivine crystals.  It would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection. Comes with a Canagem Collection specimen card and a stand will also be included.

This is a fantastic shatter cone from Montoume France weighing 19.6 grams and measuring 45x27x16 mm. Although not a meteorite, impactites and shatter cones are directly linked to them and their impacts.   Shatter cones are evidence that the rock has been subjected to an extreme shock with very brief high pressures.  This particular specimen from Montoume is classified as subvolcanic dike rock.

Shatter cones are rare geological features that are only known to form in the bedrock beneath large meteorite impact craters. They have a distinctively conical shape with thin grooves (striae) that radiate from the top (apex) of the cone. Shatter cones can range in length from 1 centimeter to several meters. The azimuths of the cones's axes typically radiate outwards from the point of impact, with the cones pointing towards the center of the impact crater.

This impactite was formed 186 million years ago.  This piece displays very well and is a very nice size showing multiple characteristics of its origin. Would make a beautiful addition to any collection. Comes with a Canagem Collection specimen card.

This is an individual Northwest Africa or NWA 4293 formerly known as NQ10, an H6 chondrite found in the Sahara desert in 2005.  It is one of 5854 approved meteorites classified as such. The meteorite weighs 5 grams with dimensions of 15x14x11 mm.  

This fascinating meteorite was mainly found as small individuals and the total weight of the 100's of pieces recovered is recorded as a low 25 kg. The meteorite has a shock stage of 4 and weathering grade of 2.  NWA 4293 is interesting in the way it looks as can be seen in the images.  Most pieces are free of caliche, have a smooth gray surface and are small complete individuals.  The unusual appearance is due to shock hardening and being sandblasted in the desert.

This specimen comes with a Canagem specimen card.  Would make a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection.

Une bombe volcanique à olivine est un type de roche volcanique contenant des cristaux d'olivine et qui a été éjectée lors d'une éruption volcanique. L'olivine est un minéral que l'on trouve couramment dans le manteau terrestre et l'un des premiers minéraux à cristalliser lors du refroidissement du magma.

Les bombes volcaniques sont de gros caillots de lave éjectés d'un volcan lors d'une éruption explosive. Leur taille peut varier et leurs formes sont souvent simplifiées en raison de leur nature fondue lorsqu'ils sont projetés dans les airs. Lorsque ces bombes volcaniques contiennent des cristaux d’olivine, on les appelle bombes volcaniques à olivine.

Nous avons ici pour vous un joli fragment coupé individuel d'une météorite non classée NWA du désert du Sahara pesant 77 grammes. Ses dimensions sont de 37x32x29mm. Cette pierre d'Afrique du Nord-Ouest, jamais classée, a été découverte dans le désert du Sahara vers 2000.

Il s’agit d’un spécimen de météorite NWA à fragment individuel de bonne qualité. Certaines intempéries montrent le temps passé par la météorite à vieillir dans le désert. Ce serait un bel ajout à toute collection nouvelle ou existante. Livré avec une carte spécimen de la Collection Canagem.
