This is a lovely thumbnail specimen of Pyrite from Nikitovka, Ukraine. The pyrite found in this region typically occurs as metallic brassy masses, granular aggregates, and smaller crystal groupings. Unlike the sharp cubic pyrite crystals from Spain or Peru that collectors often recognize immediately, Nikitovka pyrite is more valued for its geological association with mercury minerals than for dramatic crystal form.

Cubic and crystallized pyrite matrix with Marmatite and Quartz crystal cluster.
Some of the more important Colorado localities for specimens of well-crystallized pyrite include mines at cli- max, Gilman, Leadville, Rico, Ouray, Telluride, Creede, Alicante, Alice, and State Bridge. Specimens from each of these localities often have distinctive crystal habits and mineral associations. The Eagle mine is probably best known for its pyritohedral Pyrite specimens. This cluster is a good representative Eagle mine Pyrite showing typical striated pyritohedra with sharp, lustrous faces plus some Marmatite opaque black iron-rich crystals.
This top specimen is in very good condition. Would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection.

Amber golden calcite from Mexico is a beautiful variety of calcite known for its rich golden to honey-colored tones. It often forms in sharp, well-shaped crystals like dogtooth clusters or larger, chunky crystals with smooth faces. These pieces can have a soft glow when light passes through them, making them visually warm and inviting. Much of this material comes from regions like Durango and Chihuahua, areas well known for producing high-quality calcite in many colors.
Amber golden calcite is often associated with confidence, warmth, and personal growth. Some believe it helps boost self-esteem and encourages a positive, motivated outlook, making it a helpful stone during times of change or new beginnings. It's also thought to carry a gentle grounding energy, helping balance emotions while keeping one connected to a sense of inner strength.

This impressive specimen features a beautiful combination of Apophyllite, Stilbite, and Calcite crystals on Chalcedony druse. Weighing over 2 kg, it displays numerous well-formed, double-terminated crystals that create exceptional visual appeal.
Stilbite is a zeolite mineral appreciated for its delicate crystal formations and pastel hues, ranging from colorless to white, yellow, pink, and peach. It forms distinctive tabular crystals with a bowtie or butterfly shape and exhibits a vitreous to pearly luster.
One of the distinguishing features of apophyllite is its ability to form well-defined crystals with a pyramid-like shape. These crystals often exhibit a prismatic or pseudo-cubic habit and have a vitreous luster. Apophyllite is transparent to translucent and is commonly found in colorless or white varieties, although it can also occur in shades of green, pink, yellow, or brown.
Calcite is found throughout the world in sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks. Some geologists consider it to be a "ubiquitous mineral" - one that is found everywhere. Calcite is the principal constituent of limestone and marble.
This specimen's substantial size and excellent crystal coverage make it an impressive display piece and a beautiful addition to any mineral collection.

This beautiful Apophyllite specimen is of significant size and will include the stand seen in the photos.
Apophyllite is a mineral belonging to the phyllosilicate group. It is known for its distinctive crystal formations, often occurring in clusters with a unique beauty. Apophyllite crystals are usually colorless or white, allowing them to be transparent or translucent. Although, some specimens may exhibit a greenish, yellowish, or pinkish tint due to the presence of impurities.
Apophyllite often forms as prismatic crystals with a square or rectangular cross-section. It frequently occurs in distinctive pyramid-like structures, and its crystals can be large and well-formed. Apophyllite is found in various locations around the world. Notable occurrences include India, Brazil, Mexico, Germany, and the United States.
Apophyllite is believed to have a calming effect, and to effectively reduce stress, releasing mental blockages and negative thought patterns. Apophyllite is also said to release suppressed emotion, to overcome anxiety, worries and fears. It calms apprehensions and allows uncertainty to be tolerated.

While it's commonly colorless or white, Calcite can also appear in various hues, including shades of green, blue, yellow, orange, red, brown, and even black. This sphere is a beautiful example of yellow calcite. The coloration is often due to impurities or exposure to different minerals during formation. Calcite is typically transparent to translucent, allowing light to pass through and sometimes exhibit a phenomenon called double refraction. is found throughout the world in sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks.
Calcite is associated with clarity, amplification of energy, and cleansing. It is believed it can help with emotional healing, motivation, and creativity.

Moldavite is a rare, greenish gemstone formed by the impact of a meteorite. It is a type of tektite, which is a natural glass created from terrestrial material that melted during the intense heat of meteor impacts. Moldavite is believed to have been formed around 15 million years ago when a massive meteorite hit what is now the southern Germany and Czech Republic region, forming the Ries Impact Structure. The impact ejected material into the atmosphere, which later cooled and fell back to Earth as moldavite, primarily in the region of the Czech Republic. The most well-known deposits are located near the Moldau River, from which it gets its name. It is found in small quantities, making it relatively rare.
Moldavite has a distinct green color, ranging from pale olive green to deep forest green. Some specimens even have a slight brownish tint. It often has a wrinkled or pitted surface, a characteristic of its formation process.

This premium specimen from Preissac Mine displays multiple perfect rosettes of metallic molybdenite and some greenish-gray flaky mica (likely muscovite or biotite) surrounding parts of the specimen crystals on feldspar matrix. The rosettes measure approximately 15-23 mm in length.
Molybdenite is commonly found as foliated masses meaning the mineral forms folia or layers, like the mineral mica. It is metallic gray, has a greasy feel, and is very soft at only 1 on Mohs' hardness scale. Its softness, metallic luster and gray color led scientists to mistakenly believe it was a lead mineral. This specimen shows the typical hexagonal layered structure of the crystal.
Some believe molybdenite is linked to intuition, transformation, and problem-solving, helping with mental clarity and adaptability. It is sometimes associated with the third eye chakra, thought to enhance insight and creative thinking.

This is a great looking 4.474 kg (9.9 lbs) Meteor Crater Oxide (Canyon Diablo) individual specimen directly from Arizona, U.S.A.. Its dimensions are 15.7x12.5x9.9 cm (6.2x4.9x3.9 inches).
This 4.474-kg Meteorite Oxide originates from the renowned Meteor Crater in Northern Arizona. Its natural oxidation process offers a unique, rugged texture and appearance, providing an authentic sample of extraterrestrial iron altered by Earth’s atmosphere over time. Ideal for collectors and researchers, this specimen exemplifies the scientific and geological significance of meteorite weathering. This piece was obtained in 2005 from a retiring Meteor Crater employee. It is highly magnetic and very heavy for its size.
-
Formation:As meteorites fall through the atmosphere and land on Earth, the iron and other metallic components can oxidize, forming rust-like coatings.
-
Impact on Appearance:The fusion crust of a meteorite can weather over time, transforming from a black, shiny surface to a rusty brown color due to oxidation.
-
Not all Meteorites Oxidize:While most meteorites have some degree of oxidation, the extent can vary based on factors like the meteorite's composition, the duration of exposure to the atmosphere, and the local environment.
Right now if you want to acquire something like this, the nice folks at the Crater will ask for $1.50 to $2.00 USD per gram. Here you get it for substantially less in the best shape possible. Would make a beautiful addition to any collection or start one today.
