This is a beautiful black Biotite crystal book from the Calcite Vein-Dikes of the Grenville Geological Province Ontario, Canada. This specimen is a great example of both the classic crystal shape and attractive dark coloration.
Biotite is rarely considered a valuable mineral specimen, but it can accompany other minerals and compliment them. In Bancroft, Ontario, Biotite forms large crystals with green apatite and hornblende. Single large plates or "books" of biotite can grow to considerable size and can make impressive mineral specimens.
Stand not included.

Libyan Desert Glass | Natural Impact Glass | 2.2 Grams | Authentic Impactite
$13.00 CAD
Unit price perLibyan Desert Glass | Natural Impact Glass | 2.2 Grams | Authentic Impactite
$13.00 CAD
Unit price perThis is a rare and fantastic 2.2 gram Libyan Desert Glass from Kuffra, Libya, with dimensions of 21x17x7 mm.
Although its exact origin is still debated, the leading theory suggests it was formed by a high-energy event, such as a meteoric impact or airburst, that melted the desert sand directly where it lay, without being ejected into the atmosphere and re-entering. This results in different physical characteristics compared to tektites. Libyan Desert Glass is found specifically in the Great Sand Sea of the Eastern Sahara, within a more localized area spanning parts of western Egypt and eastern Libya.
This piece displays extremely well and is a quality translucent specimen. It has an aesthetic shape with a beautiful wind eroded body from the years spent in the Desert. Would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection. Comes with a Canagem Collection specimen card.

Unit price perOlivine Volcanic Bombs | Uncut Lava Rock Crystal | Mt Shadwell Volcano, Australia
From $8.39 CAD
Unit price perThese are whole, uncut lava coated volcanic bombs from Mortlake, Victoria, Australia . The lava crust on these pieces is complete, they can be showcased as is or cut to show the interior. The lava is most likely covering green olivine crystals.
An olivine volcanic bomb is a type of volcanic rock that contains olivine crystals and has been ejected during a volcanic eruption. Olivine is a mineral that is commonly found in the Earth's mantle and is one of the first minerals to crystallize as magma cools.
Volcanic bombs are large clots of lava that are ejected from a volcano during an explosive eruption. They can vary in size, and their shapes are often streamlined due to their molten nature as they are thrown through the air. When these volcanic bombs contain olivine crystals, they are referred to as olivine volcanic bombs.
The dimensions and weight of each of these olivine bombs are as follows:
A. 32x25x17 mm / 1.3x1.0x0.7 in | 14.2 gr / 0.5 oz
B. 37x25x22 mm / 1.5x1.0x0.9 in | 23 gr / 0.8 oz
C. 43x34x21 mm / 1.7x1.3x0.8 in | 37 gr / 1.3 oz
D. 49x44x34 mm / 1.9x1.7x1.3 in | 63.6 gr / 2.2 oz
E. 66x44x33 mm / 2.6x1.7x1.3 in | 113.5 gr / 4.0 oz
F. 79x48x38 mm / 3.1x1.9x1.5 in | 145.4gr / 5.1 oz

Unit price perRough Sodalite | 104 grams | Princess Sodalite Mine | Bancroft, Ontario, Canada
$14.50 CAD
Unit price perSodalite is usually found in the massive form, rather than crystals. Its name is derived from its sodium content. This stone is frequently found with lapis lazuli, but contains little or no golden pyrite specks in it as lapis does. It may, however, contain patches or streaks of white calcite. Although some people think that sodalite resembles lapis in some ways, it is entirely different in chemical composition and has more of a navy blue coloring.
Would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection.

This is a nice fossilized Trilobite in host rock from Morocco. Trilobites are the most diverse group of extinct animals preserved in the fossil record. Nine orders of trilobite are recognized, into which 15,000+ species are placed. Trilobites are remarkable, hard-shelled, segmented creatures that existed over 300 million years ago in the Earth's ancient seas. They went extinct before dinosaurs even came into existence, and are one of the key signature creatures of the Paleozoic Era, the first era to exhibit a proliferation of the complex life-forms that established the foundation of life as it is today. Although dinosaurs are the most well-known fossil life forms, trilobites are also a favorite among those familiar with Paleontology (the study of the development of life on Earth), and are found in the rocks of all continents.
The Trilobite itself measures 12x14 mm, the entire host rock is 58x53 mm. This specimen is great as a teaching tool in the home or in the classroom, or as a gift. It can also be used for science projects and other types craft displays. Comes with a Canagem Collection specimen card.
This is an individual Northwest Africa or NWA 4293 formerly known as NQ10, an H6 chondrite found in the Sahara desert in 2005. It is one of 5854 approved meteorites classified as such. The meteorite weighs 3 grams with dimensions of 17x15x8 mm.
This fascinating meteorite was mainly found as small individuals and the total weight of the 100's of pieces recovered is recorded as a low 25 kg. The meteorite has a shock stage of 4 and weathering grade of 2. NWA 4293 is interesting in the way it looks as can be seen in the images. Most pieces are free of caliche, have a smooth gray surface and are small complete individuals. The unusual appearance is due to shock hardening and being sandblasted in the desert.
This specimen comes with a Canagem specimen card. Would make a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection.

These are cabinet-sized Hourglass Selenite Crystals from Salt Plains, Oklahoma. Oklahoma designated the unique hourglass selenite crystal as the official state crystal in 2005 after elementary school students from Bryant and Red Oak School petitioned the state legislature. Hourglass selenite crystals are found only on the salt plains of Oklahoma, a unique 11,000-acre geological area. The salt plains were formed by repeated flooding by sea water millions of years ago.
Selenite (hydrous calcium sulfate) is a crystallized form of gypsum, a common mineral in sedimentary environments that can take on a great variety of crystal forms and shapes. Crystals take on the characteristics of their environment - iron oxide in the soil gives the hourglass crystals their chocolate brown color.
Hourglass Selenite is thought to amplify energies, aid in achieving balance and harmony, and align the crown chakra. Its protective qualities are believed to ward off negativity, and it is often used to enhance communication and promote emotional stability.
The weight and dimensions of the glass pieces are as follows:

Unit price perQuartz crystals are among the most abundant and well-known minerals on Earth. Quartz belongs to the hexagonal crystal system. It typically forms six-sided prismatic crystals with a pointed termination. Its crystals can be colorless or exhibit a wide range of colors. The color variations are often due to the presence of impurities or trace elements during the crystal's formation. Quartz is transparent to translucent.
Quartz is considered a “master healer.” It's believed to amplify energy by absorbing, storing, releasing, and regulating it. It's thought to aid concentration and memory. Quartz is also said to be a power gemstone that harmonizes and balances; enhancing energy and thoughts as well as purifying the spiritual, mental and physical.
