This is a beautiful specimen of golden brown Vesuvianite crystals on a white carbonate matrix from Mexico. A great addition to any collection! It was first discovered on Mount Vesuvius in Italy in the 18th century, hence its name.

Vesuvianite typically occurs as a green, brown, yellow, or blue-green crystal, and is often found in metamorphic and igneous rocks. The alternate name, Idocrase, is from the Greek eidos “form”, and krasis “mixture”, because Vesuvianite often appears to combine the crystal forms of other minerals. It is used as a gemstone.

This amazing specimen of Vesuvianite was collected in the 1960's by A. Stevenson in Harcourt, Ontario, Canada. The specimen is a beautiful rich gemmy green vesuvianite crystal, and is fully terminated. This rare and premium specimen is in excellent condition. They are also seen as being strategic and clever when dealing with challenges.  Those born in the Year of the Rat often have high ambitions and a strong desire to succeed and are known for their energetic approach to life.  Rats are generally thought to be charming and good with people,  often making strong connections and forming relationships easily.  They are also thought to be good with money and tend to be practical. This is a nice group of small yellow wulfenite crystals on matrix from Total Wreck Mine, Arizona.  Wulfenite from the Total Wreck Mine is known for producing small but attractive crystals, usually in shades of yellow to orange-yellow. The crystals from this mine tend to be thin, tabular, and sometimes slightly translucent, often growing on a contrasting, earthy matrix.

While the Total Wreck Mine isn’t as famous as places like the Red Cloud Mine for wulfenite, it has still yielded pieces that are valued by collectors, especially because Arizona as a whole is renowned for producing some of the world’s finest wulfenite. Specimens from Total Wreck are typically more modest in size and brightness but are appreciated for their historic mining context and authentic desert character.

Wulfenite is often associated with creativity, emotional balance, and perseverance. Some believe it helps connect the heart and the will, encouraging people to follow their passions even through difficult or uncertain times. Wulfenite is also thought to support emotional healing by helping release old attachments and clearing a path for new experiences.
