This is a striking miniature cobaltoan calcite from Bou Azzer. A very beautiful piece composed of many gemmy pink crystals.  The deep pink is very eye-catching and is a fine representation of the species and locale.

Color-change fluorite can exhibit a range of colors, including shades of blue, violet, green, and purple. This is a superb looking fragment of the Columbus classified meteorite weighing 3.83 grams. Its dimensions are 16x13x12 mm. This rare H5 classified meteorite was found in Luna County, New Mexico USA in 1997. The total weight of the stones recovered is recorded as a minuscule 165 grams. 

Here's what the finder, Michael Cottingham told us: "This is the Meteorite that started it all for me! My wife and I were out looking for meteorites on a dry lake bed in Southern New Mexico and I found one! This was a new meteorite discovery and it only took me 300 hours of searching to find my First One!  The COLUMBUS Meteorite was found by me in January of 1997. It was Classified by A. Rubin at UCLA as a H5 Chondrite. It was found near Columbus, Luna County, New Mexico and the Total Known Weight is ONLY 184 grams. Very Rare indeed."

Crackle quartz, also known as fire quartz or ice quartz, is a type of quartz that has been treated to create a distinctive cracked or shattered appearance within the crystal.  This treatment is done by heating the quartz crystals and then rapidly cooling them, which results in the development of internal fissures.  The cracks within the quartz can vary in size and pattern, creating a shattered or broken appearance. The fractures often resemble ice or fire, giving rise to the alternative names ice quartz and fire quartz.

Crackle quartz is available in various colors, and the treatment process can enhance or alter the natural color of the quartz. Common colors include clear, white, smoky, or even vibrant hues like pink, blue, or green.

This is a stunning specimen of calcite cubes on mordenite druse.  The crystals are well defined and look beautiful together.

Calcite is found throughout the world in sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks. Some geologists consider it to be a "ubiquitous mineral" - one that is found everywhere. Calcite is the principal constituent of limestone and marble. 

Mordenite was first described in 1864 by Henry How. He named it after the small community of Morden, Nova Scotia, Canada, along the Bay of Fundy, where it was first found.  It is one of the most abundant zeolites and is found in volcanic rock such as rhyolite, andesite, and basalt. It is associated with other zeolites such as stilbite and heulandite.
