Quartz crystals are among the most abundant and well-known minerals on Earth. Quartz belongs to the hexagonal crystal system. It typically forms six-sided prismatic crystals with a pointed termination. Its crystals can be colorless or exhibit a wide range of colors. The color variations are often due to the presence of impurities or trace elements during the crystal's formation. Quartz is transparent to translucent. 

Quartz is considered a “master healer.” It's believed to amplify energy by absorbing, storing, releasing, and regulating it. It's thought to aid concentration and memory.  Quartz is also said to be a power gemstone that harmonizes and balances; enhancing energy and thoughts as well as purifying the spiritual, mental and physical. About 1.87 billion years ago, an object from space 9 kilometers in diameter, slammed into Canada a little north of Sudbury, Ontario creating the second largest impact structure on the earth. This impact was equivalent to a billion tons of TNT; an impact so great that it cracked the earth, in fact they still have earthquakes because of it today!

The many mineral rich deposits and strange rock formations in such close proximity has attracted attention for 100's of years, long before its impact origin was known, from Thomas Edison, who built a lab on site to NASA Moonwalker "Gene" Cernan, who studied and collected geology samples as part of his pre-moon mission training.

In addition, most of these specimens will contain nickel, iron, sperrylite and pentlandite as well as minor amounts of other metals, metallic & silicate minerals."

This is a beautiful piece of eudialyte from world famous Mont St-Hilaire, Quebec. Eudialyte is widespread at Mont Saint-Hilaire and can be found as excellent crystals with vibrant color.  It features raspberry red eudialyte with black and white crystals.  Would be a great addition to any collection.
