This is a beautiful piece of natural Agate from Uruguay.  It is finely polished on both sides and features finely banded shades of beige turning to blue depending on the angle of the light.  The banded patterns and color variations in Agate make each piece unique and visually striking.  To see the true beauty of this slice of Agate, it should be displayed with a light source behind it.

Agate is formed within cavities of volcanic rocks through a process of mineral deposition over time. As silica-rich water flows through these cavities, it gradually deposits layers of microcrystalline quartz, which give rise to the characteristic banded appearance. The colors and patterns in Agate can vary depending on the types of minerals present during the formation process.  Uruguay is known for producing high-quality Agate specimens, and the country has a rich history of Agate mining and craftsmanship.

Ammolite is an opal-like organic gemstone found primarily along the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains of North America. It is made of the fossilized shells of ammonites, which in turn are composed primarily of aragonite, the same mineral contained in nacre, with a microstructure inherited from the shell.  It is one of few biogenic gemstones; others include amber and pearl. In 1981, the year commercial mining of ammolite began, ammolite was given official gemstone status by the World Jewellery Confederation.

In Chinese culture, longevity is often associated with immortality and is considered a highly auspicious and desirable trait. Immortal figures, often depicted as elderly individuals, are revered for their wisdom, longevity, and spiritual enlightenment.

This is a large sparkly cluster of beautiful pink bladed barite on a small bed of Cerussite crystals. Barite crystal formations grow in parallel sheets that almost appear fibrous. It is well-known for its great range of colors and varied crystal forms and habits. 

Cerussite is commonly known as white lead and is an important ore mineral.  It consists of lead carbonate which crystallizes in the orthorhombic system.  Its color will vary depending on the composition and structure, with colorless, white, grey and green tinted, being the most common colors of crystals found.

Kunzite is the best known variety of the mineral spodumene. It’s named after famed gemologist George Frederick Kunz, who was the first to identify it as a unique variety of spodumene.

Kunzite gets its delicate color from trace amounts of manganese. This superb specimen is from the gem pegmatites of Nooristan, Afghanistan. It is a lovely lilac pink and is sharply crystallized and partially gemmy.
