Calcite is found throughout the world in sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks. Some geologists consider it to be a "ubiquitous mineral" - one that is found everywhere. Calcite is the principal constituent of limestone and marble.  Laumontite is a member of the zeolite group, and occurs in many of the zeolite deposits.

Quartz crystals are among the most abundant and well-known minerals on Earth. It belongs to the hexagonal crystal system, and typically forms six-sided prismatic crystals with a pointed termination. Its crystals can be colorless or exhibit a wide range of colors. The color variations are often due to the presence of impurities or trace elements during the crystal's formation. Quartz is transparent to translucent.

Another fantastic mineral from Quebec! The front of the specimen is covered with many sharp quartz, siderite and albite crystals. The back of the specimen is mostly small smoky quartz crystals. It is in very good condition.

This is a beautiful self standing cluster of dark purple amethyst cactus quartz crystals. This deep color is no longer being produced from this locality, so don't miss out! None of the many tips are damaged.  

Cactus Quartz is also known as Spirit Quartz, Barnacle Quartz, Pineapple Quartz or Porcupine Quartz.   It is found only in South Africa and Its colors range from white, yellowish brown, lilac, purple, to grey brown.

Quartz is considered a “master healer.” It's said to amplify energy by absorbing, storing, releasing, and regulating it. It's also said to aid concentration and memory. Physically, clear crystals are claimed to help stimulate the immune system and balance out your entire body.

Quartz is also said to be a power gemstone that harmonizes and balances; enhancing energy and thoughts as well as purifying the spiritual, mental and physical. Quartz is associated with the crown chakra.

This is a beautiful piece of eudialyte from Abitibi-Temiscamingue, Quebec. It features raspberry red eudialyte with black crystals of Rare Earth Element (REE) bearing Pyroxene, white feldspar and a little Mossandrite (a rare species) from the remote Kippawa mine.  Great addition to any collection.

Name: Molybdenite Vein in Feldspar

This is a section of a vein that has Molybdenite in feldspar from Western Ontario. This specimen also features a neat little pocket filled with some nice microcrystal species.  

Molybdenite, molybdenum sulfide, is the major ore mineral of molybdenum. It was rarely found as crystals, but is commonly found as foliated masses in Ontario. This means the mineral forms folia or layers, like the mineral mica. It is metallic gray, has a greasy feel, and is very soft at only 1 on Mohs' hardness scale. Its softness, metallic luster and gray color led scientists to mistakenly believe it was a lead mineral. Geologically, molybdenite forms in high-temperature environments such as in igneous rocks. Some molybdenite forms when igneous bodies contact rock and metamorphose, or change, the rock. This is called contact metamorphism
