Pinterest Meteorites

This is a fine part slice specimen of the Northwest Africa (NWA) 2771 meteorite found in the Sahara Desert in 2004. This nice collectible H5 chondrite consists of a brecciated matrix with light and dark clasts and is characterized by abundant chondrules and metal flakes.  The total Mass is registered at 390 grams from a single stone.  The Shock stage is recorded at 1 and the Weathering grade is also a 1.  This is a nice piece weighing 2.8 grams with dimensions of 23x23x2 mm.

This is a great looking part slice of Northwest Africa 2863 L4 classified meteorite. It weighs 4.5 grams and measures 21x16x4 mm. This meteorite was found in the Sahara Desert in 2004 and the total recovered weight is recorded as a low 480 grams.  It has a Shock stage of 2 and a Weathering grade of 3.

This is a very good quality L4 classified meteorite part slice and is unusually consisting of a chocolate brown mottled matrix with large inclusions and chondrules. This meteorite is quite friable and porous.

This nice collectible L4 chondrite consists of a mottled light brown matrix and is characterized by nice metal flakes.  The total mass is registered at 2,335 grams from a single stone.  The shock stage is recorded at 3 and the weathering grade is 1.  This is a nice piece weighing 9.7 grams with dimensions of 27x23x7 mm.

This is a fabulous NWA 2122 meteorite slice weighing 4.4 grams and measuring 25x24x3  mm.  It was found in the Northwest African Desert in 2002 and is classified as an L5 Stony Black Chondrite.

This is a nice looking individual fragment of a Sahara Desert NWA unclassified meteorite. It weighs 74.2 grams and measures 67x44x22 mm. This never classified Northwest Africa stone was found in the Sahara desert around 2000.

Here we have for you a nice looking end cut of a Sahara Desert NWA unclassified meteorite weighing 55.8 grams. Its dimensions are 47x33x29 mm. This never classified Northwest Africa stone was found in the Sahara Desert around 2000.

This is a fabulous 7.5 grams Brahin Pallasite stony iron classified meteorite part end cut with dimensions of 31x30x6 mm. This superb meteorite was found in Minsk, Gomel Region, Belarus in 1810 and the Total Known Weight is ~ 823 kg.

This is a superb looking part slice of Sahara Desert NWA 2229 meteorite.  It weighs 1.8 grams and measures 16x16x3 mm. Although still considered unclassified, this meteorite was given the provisional class of R3.8 Rumurutiite. 

This is a great specimen with many multicolored chondrules and CAIs.  It's a Dean Bessey meteorite but unfortunately many of his finds were never fully submitted for analysis.  It is a shame for this particular specimen, as it is just spectacular.
