This is a great looking laboratory vial of the Ozona H6 Chondrite classified meteorite. The specimen weighs 0.158 grams. This specimen is from the Martin Horejsi Collection.
The Ozona meteorite was discovered on the W. Payen Ranch in Crockett County, Texas, United States, in 1929. However, it was not recognized as a meteorite until 1939. Many fragments of this H6 Stone Chondrite were recovered, the largest of which weighed 110 lbs.
Ozona is a veined H6 chondrite. This offering is for Ozona fragments and dust in a capsule. Also included is the plastic laboratory vial from which this material originally came. Don't miss your chance to add this rarely offered location to your collection.
The specimen comes with a Martin Horejsi Collection and a Canagem Collection specimen card. Would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection.
This is a Canyon Diablo classified meteorite shale specimen weighing 0.45 grams. Its dimensions are 12x6x2 mm. This Iron (IAB-MG) classified meteorite was found in Arizona in 1891. So far approximately 30 T of this material have been recovered.
The crater it formed is world famous and known as Meteor Crater (also known as "Barringer Meteor Crater"). It is an Arizona Meteorite and one that is a must have for any collection. The Canyon Diablo has been closed to hunting for many years so these pieces are becoming more difficult to acquire and this is a good time to get a fine specimen.
Would make a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection. Will come in a gem jar with a Canagem Collection specimen card.
This is an incredible green/yellow, fluorapatite crystal from Cerro del Mercado (Iron Mountain) in Durango, Mexico. It is completely free of the matrix and has a relatively perfect termination. The catalog number 2246 of this phantom specimen came from the Earl Calvert Collection.
At Cerro de Mercado, numerous veins containing gemmy, lemon-yellow to greenish fluorapatite crystals cut through the hematite massif. These crystals have been collected for decades from the area's iron mines, but they have become much more scarce with recent mechanization of the mining operations.
The bright, lustrous apatite crystals form hexagonal shapes with off-center terminations. They are found in vugs, often associated with quartz and calcite. Most crystals are around an inch in length, though larger crystals up to about 4 inches long have been found.
