Moissanite has become a popular alternative to diamonds for jewelry.  Moissanites have a similar appearance to diamonds and often look nearly identical to the untrained eye. Originally discovered in a meteorite crater, Moissanite is well known worldwide as the world’s most brilliant gemstone, better than diamonds. Moissanite is incredibly rare in its natural form; however, lab created moissanite is identical to the original with hardness second only to diamond.  Moissanites have a hardness of 9.25 on the Mohs scale, while  diamonds are a 10.  This makes moissanite suitable for everyday wear and less prone to scratching or damage.

Rare large group of small yellow-gold crystals of wulfenite on matrix from Old Yuma Mine, Arizona. Tanzanite is renowned for its intense blue and violet colors, but can also be golden, green, lilac and peacock (blue and green). The sole source of tanzanite is the Merelani Hills in northern Tanzania. Discovered in the 1960s, tanzanite is considered rarer than diamonds due to its single-source origin. The mines in Tanzania are exhaustible, adding to the gemstone's allure.

With a hardness of 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale, tanzanite is relatively soft compared to some other gemstones. As a result, it requires gentle care to prevent scratches or damage.

This is a must have 15.4 gram Impactite, monomict impact breccia from the Agoudal, Imilchil impact structure, Morocco.  Although not a meteorite, impactites are directly linked to them and their impacts and are probably going to be one of the rarest collection items you'll ever own. Impactite is a slag-like glassy object found on the surface of the earth, formed from rock melted by the impact of a meteorite.

The term impactite encompasses shock-metamorphosed target rocks, melts or suevites and mixtures of the two, as well as sedimentary rocks with significant impact-derived components and shocked mineral grains, tektites, anomalous geochemical signatures, etc. According to the state of conservation of the meteorite into the sedimentary layers "Soltanian" and the dating of ancient lake sediments of the Isli lake, we can estimate their age limit to 40,000 years. 

More than 183 structures of meteoritical impacts are highlighted on the Earth, including only three reported dual impact craters. The impact craters of Isli and Tislit are respectively located at 10 km and 4 km from the Imilchil village on the Central High Atlas in Morocco at respective altitudes of 2272 and 2266 meters. They are spaced apart from each other by 9.4 km. The origin and the date of formation of these two lakes are still unknown today. Surveys undertaken near them and in the surrounding areas leads to believe that they correspond to a dual meteoritical impact crater.

Polymict and monomict breccias were observed at the edges of these craters but they don’t form big masses because of erosion. They consist of irregular fragments with millimeter and centimeter sizes, in a carbonate matrix. In the breccias collected on the southern edges of the Isli crater, we noted the presence of several shocked quartz grains in planar structures associated with rolling extinction, indicators of shock metamorphism. 

This gorgeous specimen displays very well with a mass of 38x31x21 mm. Would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection. Comes with a Canagem Collection specimen card.

This is a rare specimen of the brown Cyrtolite variety of Zircon crystals mined at MacDonald Mine, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada. This is a large mass of Cyrtolite. The mine deposit is remarkable for the presence of a variety of rare-element minerals, some of them recorded for the first time. Its content of such minerals makes this deposit one of the most remarkable pegmatites, mineralogically, yet discovered in Canada.  The specimen is in great condition.

This is an outstanding specimen Impact Melt Glass, or "Flädle" glass, from the Lake Mien crater, 12 km (7.5 mi) southwest of the town of Tingsryd, Sweden.   It weighs 39.8 grams and measures 54x49x20 mm.  Although not a meteorite, impactites are directly linked to them and their impacts.

Impactite is a slag-like glassy object found on the surface of the earth, formed from rock melted by the impact of a meteorite. The term encompasses shock-metamorphosed target rocks, melts or suevites and mixtures of the two, as well as sedimentary rocks with significant impact-derived components and shocked mineral grains, tektites, anomalous geochemical signatures, etc.

This eroded crater is marked by a 5.5-km (3.4-mi) diameter circular lake named Lake Mien. The original crater rim is estimated to have been about 9 km in diameter before erosion. Its age is estimated to be 121.0 ± 2.3 million years (Early Cretaceous).  This Suevitic breccia with clastic matrix and melt inclusions (black) and crystalline rock clasts (gray to white) is amazingly light considering its mass.   It has a unique hollow sound when you tap it.
