Unit price perHenbury Impactite | Vesicular Impact Glass | 6.57 Gr | Awesome Rare | Henbury N.T. Australia | SO24
$26.00 CAD
Unit price perThis is an outstanding Impact Melt Glass specimen or bomb weighing 6.57 grams. Its dimensions are 28x26x22 mm. Although not a meteorite, impactites are directly linked to them and their impacts.
This Henbury glass, or more specifically vesicular impactite, was found in the Northern Territory of Australia. Thirteen craters were found 8 miles southwest of the town of Henbury, the largest of which was 720 x 360 feet. Henbury impactite was formed by a meteorite impact that occurred around 4,700 years ago. The meteorite is believed to have exploded upon entering the Earth's atmosphere, creating multiple craters which produced the impact glass.
Impactite is a slag-like glassy object found on the surface of the earth, formed from rock melted by the impact of a meteorite. The term encompasses shock-metamorphosed target rocks, melts or suevites and mixtures of the two, as well as sedimentary rocks with significant impact-derived components and shocked mineral grains, tektites, anomalous geochemical signatures, etc.
This piece displays extremely well. It is amazingly light considering its mass. It has a unique hollow sound when you tap it. This Australian find is very well shaped and preserved. These pieces are becoming more difficult to acquire so this is a good time to get a fine specimen. Would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection. Will come with a Canagem specimen card.

Unit price perThis is a superb slice of the rare Northwest Africa 3134 meteorite, weighing 0.328 grams and measuring 11x10x1 mm. This is 1 of 136 approved meteorites classified as EL-6.
This 328mg part slice of NWA 3134 is a Rare EL6, W0/1 Enstatite Chondrite found in 2004 in the Sahara Desert. Enstatites are very rare, accounting for less than 2% of the chondrites. The interior of this meteorite is extremely fresh rating a W0 (no weathering). The W1 was added because of an exterior weathering rind, which hid the beauty of this specimen until it was cut. A total known weight of 970 grams is recorded for this find. Dual type specimens were submitted to two different institutions because rare minerals were found in an excellent state of preservation.
This hard to acquire piece displays very well with its diamond lap finish, it is a high quality specimen that would make an amazing addition to any new or existing collection. Comes in a membrane box with a Canagem and a Hupé specimen card.

Unit price perShatter Cone Impactite | 17.4 grams | Rochechouart Impact Structure | France | SO24
$42.00 CAD
Unit price perThis is a fantastic shatter cone from France weighing 17.4 grams and measuring 38x26x16 mm. Although not a meteorite, impactites and shatter cones are directly linked to them and their impacts. Shatter cones are evidence that the rock has been subjected to an extreme shock with very brief high pressures.
Shatter cones are rare geological features that are only known to form in the bedrock beneath large meteorite impact craters. They have a distinctively conical shape with thin grooves (striae) that radiate from the top (apex) of the cone. Shatter cones can range in length from 1 centimeter to several meters. The azimuths of the cones's axes typically radiate outwards from the point of impact, with the cones pointing towards the center of the impact crater.
This impactite was formed 186 million years ago. This piece displays very well and is a very nice size showing multiple characteristics of its origin. Would make a beautiful addition to any collection. Comes with a Canagem Collection specimen card.

This is an individual Northwest Africa or NWA 4293 formerly known as NQ10, an H6 chondrite found in the Sahara desert in 2005. It is one of 5854 approved meteorites classified as such. The meteorite weighs 3.36 grams with dimensions of 18x15x8 mm.
This fascinating meteorite was mainly found as small individuals and the total weight of the 100's of pieces recovered is recorded as a low 25 kg. The meteorite has a shock stage of 4 and weathering grade of 2. NWA 4293 is interesting in the way it looks as can be seen in the images. Most pieces are free of caliche, have a smooth gray surface and are small complete individuals. The unusual appearance is due to shock hardening and being sandblasted in the desert.
This specimen comes with a signed Mark Bostick Collection card and a Canagem specimen card. Would make a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection.
This is a great end cut of the Nuevo Mercurio meteorite. Nuevo Mercurio is classified as a Stone Olivine-bronzite H5 chondrite. It fell on 15 Dec 1978 in Zacatecas, Mexico. At 1850 hrs on December 15, 1978, a bright fireball, traveling NE to SW and visible over a radius of at least 200 km, exploded over north-central Mexico and scattered meteorites over an elliptical area more than 10 km in length.
A total of around 300 individuals were found totaling 5+ kilograms. This specimen was picked up shortly after the fall and is very fresh. This is a great specimen that weighs 0.62 grams.

Impactite Monomict Breccia | 24.4 grams | Agoudal, Imilchil Structure | Morocco | SO24
$38.00 CAD
Unit price perImpactite Monomict Breccia | 24.4 grams | Agoudal, Imilchil Structure | Morocco | SO24
$38.00 CAD
Unit price perThis is a must have 24.4 gram Impactite, monomict impact breccia from the Agoudal, Imilchil impact structure, Morocco. Although not a meteorite, impactites are directly linked to them and their impacts and are probably going to be one of the rarest collection items you'll ever own. Impactite is a slag-like glassy object found on the surface of the earth, formed from rock melted by the impact of a meteorite.
The term impactite encompasses shock-metamorphosed target rocks, melts or suevites and mixtures of the two, as well as sedimentary rocks with significant impact-derived components and shocked mineral grains, tektites, anomalous geochemical signatures, etc. According to the state of conservation of the meteorite into the sedimentary layers "Soltanian" and the dating of ancient lake sediments of the Isli lake, we can estimate their age limit to 40,000 years.
More than 183 structures of meteoritical impacts are highlighted on the Earth, including only three reported dual impact craters. The impact craters of Isli and Tislit are respectively located at 10 km and 4 km from the Imilchil village on the Central High Atlas in Morocco at respective altitudes of 2272 and 2266 meters. They are spaced apart from each other by 9.4 km. The origin and the date of formation of these two lakes are still unknown today. Surveys undertaken near them and in the surrounding areas leads to believe that they correspond to a dual meteoritical impact crater.
Polymict and monomict breccias were observed at the edges of these craters but they don’t form big masses because of erosion. They consist of irregular fragments with millimeter and centimeter sizes, in a carbonate matrix. In the breccias collected on the southern edges of the Isli crater, we noted the presence of several shocked quartz grains in planar structures associated with rolling extinction, indicators of shock metamorphism.
This gorgeous specimen displays very well with a mass of 41x31x27 mm. Would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection. Comes with a Canagem Collection specimen card.
