Unit price perGormanite | Perky Box Thumbnail Specimen | Galilea, Minas Gerais, Brazil
$44.00 CAD
Unit price perGormanite is a rare phosphate mineral best known for its striking blue to greenish-blue color, often forming as fibrous or radiating crystal clusters. It was first discovered in Yukon, Canada, and is named after Canadian mineralogist Don Gorman.
Due to its rarity and delicate crystal habit, gormanite is primarily of interest to collectors and mineral enthusiasts. Well-formed specimens are appreciated for their intense color, silky luster, and often intricate, fibrous formations. Gormanite is relatively soft (around 4.5–5 on the Mohs scale) and fragile, so it's best suited for display rather than handling.

This is a great 19.5 gram Impact Melt Breccia from the Gardnos Crater in Norway. It is amazingly light considering its mass of 60x51x3 mm. Although not a meteorite, impactites are directly linked to them and their impacts and are probably going to be one of the rarest collection item you'll ever own. Impactite is a slag-like glassy object found on the surface of the earth, formed from rock melted by the impact of a meteorite.
The term impactite encompasses shock-metamorphosed target rocks, melts or suevites and mixtures of the two, as well as sedimentary rocks with significant impact-derived components and shocked mineral grains, tektites, anomalous geochemical signatures, etc.
This impactite was formed between 385 and 900 million years ago in Precambrian time when a meteorite crashed into the earth making a ~5 kilometers wide crater locally known as the Hallingdal Impact Crater.
Would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection. Comes with a Canagem Collection specimen card.

Faden quartz is a unique variety of quartz characterized by a distinct, thread-like white line running through the crystal. The term "Faden" comes from the German word for "thread," referring to this internal fiber-like formation. Faden quartz forms in fracture zones within metamorphic rocks, where tectonic forces cause repeated cracking and healing of the quartz. As the crystal regrows, liquid or gas inclusions get trapped along the break line, creating the characteristic white “thread” or fiber-like structure.
Many believe faden quartz symbolizes healing, connection, and resilience due to its unique formation process. It is sometimes used for energetic healing, strengthening relationships, and enhancing spiritual growth. The "thread" within the crystal is thought to represent a link between different aspects of life, making it popular among those seeking inner balance and alignment.
