This is a beautiful and ultra rare Cosalite crystal from British Columbia, Canada.  Cosalite from the Cariboo Gold Quartz Mine in Wells, BC's historic Cariboo Mining Division, is one of Canada’s most significant localities for this mineral.  Cosalite is a rare lead‑bismuth sulfosalt prized for its silvery‑grey metallic lathes, often associated with native gold, pyrite, and quartz.  This specimen comes from the collection of Alexander U. Falster and includes also a previous owner label.

This bright silvery cosalite crystals displays some pyrite and possibly minor gold specs in a contrasting white quartz matrix.  Many Cariboo Cosalite specimens are historical finds, reportedly collected in the 1940s and passed down through collectors. The mine’s long mining history and the rarity of Cosalite make these pieces highly sought after by mineral collectors, especially those interested in gold‑bearing sulfosalts and historic Canadian localities.  Would be a great addition to any collection.
