This is a superb looking part end cut of a Dhofar 321 classified meteorite weighing 25.6 grams. Its dimensions are 32x30x18 mm. This H4 classified meteorite was found in Zufar, Oman in 2001. The total weight of the single piece recovered is recorded as a low 594 grams and the meteorite has a shock stage of 2 and weathering grade of 3.
Classified H4 chondrite meteorite are characterized by abundant chondrules, and have been metamorphosed under conditions sufficient to homogenize olivine compositions and recrystallize fine-grained matrix.
This piece displays extremely well because of its beautifully and professionally polished to show the multiple chondrules. Would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection. Comes with a Canagem Collection specimen card.
