Hammadah al Hamra HaH 280 Meteorite | 1.3 gr | Slice | CK4 Carbonaceous | SO24

This is a gorgeous piece of the rare Hammadah al Hamra (HaH) 280 meteorite found in Libya in 2000. The HaH 280 is a very rare type of meteorite and is a slightly equilibrated carbonaceous chondrite with a total known weight of only 26.5 kg. CAI's are quite common and contain An-rich plagioclase and Ca-rich pyroxene.

Radiometric dating of the meteorite itself indicates an age of about 4.5 billion years, suggesting it was formed at the very beginning of the Solar System, which makes it among the oldest material known to exist.

This piece is a beautiful part slice with fresh shiny fusion crust that weighs 1.3 grams and measures 12x7x5 mm. This piece displays extremely well and is a very desirable type that is almost impossible to find.

Would make a beautiful addition to any collection. Will come with a BA-Meteorites and a Canagem Collection specimen card.
