Nuevo Mercurio Meteorite | 0.62 Grams | End Cut | H5 | Rare and Fresh Witness Fall | Zacatecas, Mexico | SO24

This is a great end cut of the Nuevo Mercurio meteorite. Nuevo Mercurio is classified as a Stone Olivine-bronzite H5 chondrite. It fell on 15 Dec 1978 in Zacatecas, Mexico.  At 1850 hrs on December 15, 1978, a bright fireball, traveling NE to SW and visible over a radius of at least 200 km, exploded over north-central Mexico and scattered meteorites over an elliptical area more than 10 km in length.

A total of around 300 individuals were found totaling 5+ kilograms. This specimen was picked up shortly after the fall and is very fresh. This is a great specimen that weighs 0.62 grams.

Would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection.  Will come with a Michael Cottingham Meteorite Collection and a Canagem® specimen card.
