NWA 3134 Fossil Meteorite | .328 Grams | Slice | Rare Enstatite EL-6 | Paleomet Hupé Collection | SO24

This is a superb slice of the rare Northwest Africa 3134 meteorite, weighing 0.328 grams and measuring 11x10x1 mm.  This is 1 of 136 approved meteorites classified as EL-6.

This 328mg part slice of NWA 3134 is a Rare EL6, W0/1 Enstatite Chondrite found in 2004 in the Sahara Desert. Enstatites are very rare, accounting for less than 2% of the chondrites. The interior of this meteorite is extremely fresh rating a W0 (no weathering). The W1 was added because of an exterior weathering rind, which hid the beauty of this specimen until it was cut. A total known weight of 970 grams is recorded for this find.  Dual type specimens were submitted to two different institutions because rare minerals were found in an excellent state of preservation.

This hard to acquire piece displays very well with its diamond lap finish, it is a high quality specimen that would make an amazing addition to any new or existing collection. Comes  in a membrane box with a Canagem and a Hupé specimen card.
