This Microcline feldspar cluster from Nevada is a quality specimen that would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing rock collection.

Microcline is one of the most common feldspar minerals. It can be colorless, white, cream to pale yellow, salmon pink to red, or bright green to blue-green. Microcline forms short prismatic or tabular crystals that are often of considerable size: single crystals can weigh several tons and reach yards in length.

Crystals are often multiply twinned, with two sets of fine lines at right angles to each other. This gives a plaid effect that is unique to microcline among the feldspars.

These are cabinet-sized Hourglass Selenite Crystals from Salt Plains, Oklahoma.  Oklahoma designated the unique hourglass selenite crystal as the official state crystal in 2005 after elementary school students from Bryant and Red Oak School petitioned the state legislature.  Hourglass selenite crystals are found only on the salt plains of Oklahoma, a unique 11,000-acre geological area. The salt plains were formed by repeated flooding by sea water millions of years ago.

Selenite (hydrous calcium sulfate) is a crystallized form of gypsum, a common mineral in sedimentary environments that can take on a great variety of crystal forms and shapes. Crystals take on the characteristics of their environment - iron oxide in the soil gives the hourglass crystals their chocolate brown color.

Hourglass Selenite is thought to amplify energies, aid in achieving balance and harmony, and align the crown chakra. Its protective qualities are believed to ward off negativity, and it is often used to enhance communication and promote emotional stability.

Apophyllite is a mineral belonging to the phyllosilicate group. It is known for its distinctive crystal formations, often occurring in clusters with a unique beauty.  Apophyllite crystals are usually colorless or white, allowing them to be transparent or translucent. Although, some specimens may exhibit a greenish, yellowish, or pinkish tint due to the presence of impurities. 

Apophyllite often forms as prismatic crystals with a square or rectangular cross-section.  It frequently occurs in distinctive pyramid-like structures, and its crystals can be large and well-formed. Apophyllite is found in various locations around the world. Notable occurrences include India, Brazil, Mexico, Germany, and the United States.

Apophyllite is believed to have a calming effect, and to effectively reduce stress, releasing mental blockages and negative thought patterns. Galena is a mineral composed of lead sulfide (PbS) with a cubic crystal structure. It has a silver-gray color with a metallic luster and the crystals have formed in the octahedron shape. Galena is historically significant as a source of lead, used in various applications, and is still important in modern industries. It is found globally, often associated with minerals like sphalerite and pyrite.

This is a large Hornblende crystal from Tory Hill, Ontario.  The specimen has all crystal faces and terminations. It is a lustrous black color and in very good condition. There is also minor apatite on some of the surfaces. The specimen is in excellent condition.
