Amphibole is a group of dark-colored, complex silicate minerals that form in a variety of geological settings.  The amphibole group includes several mineral species, such as hornblende, tremolite, actinolite, anthophyllite, and others. Each variety has its own unique chemical composition and physical properties.

Amphibole minerals can exhibit a range of colors, including dark green, black, brown, and even colorless. They often have a prismatic crystal habit, forming elongated crystals with distinct cleavage angles.  They are commonly found in igneous and metamorphic rocks. They crystallize in magma and can also form during metamorphism when pre-existing rocks are subjected to high pressure and temperature.

This is a very fine specimen of glassy, sky-blue Aquamarine crystal from the pegmatites of the Erongo Mountains of Namibia. This gemmy Aquamarine crystal is a very aesthetic piece composed of transparent to translucent prismatic crystals 17 mm in length.

This is an attractive specimen consisting of natural pale gray transparent crystals of Calcite on a green crystal matrix from Morocco.  Very beautiful material.

Calcite is found throughout the world in sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks. Some geologists consider it to be a "ubiquitous mineral" - one that is found everywhere. Calcite is the principal constituent of limestone and marble.

This is a large sparkly cluster of beautiful multi-colored bladed barite and some Cerussite crystals.  Barite crystal formations grow in parallel sheets that almost appear fibrous. It is well-known for its great range of colors and varied crystal forms and habits. Cerussite is commonly known as white lead and is an important ore mineral.  It consists of lead carbonate which crystallizes in the orthorhombic system.  Its color will vary depending on the composition and structure, with colorless, white, grey and green tinted, being the most common colors of crystals found.

Celestite, also known as celestine, typically ranges in color from light blue to pale blue, though it can also be colorless, white, or shades of yellow and pink.  Celestite is a strontium sulfate mineral which crystallizes in the orthorhombic crystal system, typically forming well-defined, prismatic crystals.  This celestite specimen is a nice example of a prismatic crystal form.

Celestite is often associated with calming energy and is believed to aid in meditation and spiritual development. It is said to promote mental clarity and enhance communication with higher realms.

This is an attractive shiny spray of metallic stibnite crystals. This outstanding specimen came from the Xikuangshan mine of China.

Stibnite is a lead-gray mineral occurring as striated prismatic crystals, that are made up of antimony sulfide and is the main ore of antimony. It often forms groups of long, shiny metallic crystals radiating out at different angles.

 NOTE: Stibnite (antimony) is toxic and can be harmful if inhaled or swallowed. While a crystal sitting on your shelf doesn't pose a health risk you should always wash your hands after handling and keep it out of reach of children.

Quartz crystals are among the most abundant and well-known minerals on Earth. It belongs to the hexagonal crystal system, and typically forms six-sided prismatic crystals with a pointed termination. Its crystals can be colorless or exhibit a wide range of colors. The color variations are often due to the presence of impurities or trace elements during the crystal's formation. Quartz is transparent to translucent.

Cave calcite is not actually calcite, but aragonite which forms within caves, mines and moist areas that are rich in limestone. Formations occur as stalactites and stalagmites, typically as botryoidal or feathery branches.
