On the Mohs scale of mineral hardness, emeralds have a rating of 7.5 to 8. This means that while they are relatively durable, they are not as hard as some other gemstones like diamonds or sapphires. Colombia is a famous source of emeralds, along with Zambia, Brazil, Afghanistan, and Zimbabwe.
Emerald is believed to enhance love, compassion, and emotional healing, as well as promote mental clarity, intuition, and problem-solving abilities.
