$26.70 CAD
Unit price perSacramento Wash SaW 005 Meteorite | 0.57 Grams | H- Metal | Rare Meteorite | Arizona | SO24
$26.70 CAD
Unit price perThe SaW 005 meteorite samples were found in the vicinity of the Franconia H5 strewn field in 2004. Reportedly hundreds of pieces from this fall, the majority of which are under 1 g, have been found by a number of meteorite hunters as well. It is now believed that about 1 Kg of material was found with the largest piece weighing less than 44 grams. This is one of 8 approved meteorites classified as H-metal with 4 from Antartica and the other 4 from Arizona(Yucca)
The total mass of the two pieces is 52.3 g. A mass of 8.60 g was found by Pete Meyers on May 18, 2004 (UA2006), and a mass of 43.7 g was found by Jim Smaller on October 29, 2005 (UA2026). The surfaces of both samples are indistinguishable. No fusion crust is present, although bluish fusion crust with flow lines was observed on other samples that were studied. Both meteorites are reddish-brown, have rounded edges, mildly weathered surfaces, fresh interiors, and pits on the surface that are due to inclusions that were plucked out during atmospheric entry or weathering.
Would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection. Will come with a Canagem Collection specimen card.
Impactite Melt Breccia Suevite | 86.6 grams | Ries Crater Germany SO24
$89.97 CAD
Unit price perImpactite Melt Breccia Suevite | 86.6 grams | Ries Crater Germany SO24
$89.97 CAD
Unit price perThis is a must have 86.6-gram Impact Melt Breccia also referred to as Suevite coming from the famous Ries crater Germany. Although not a meteorite, impactites are directly linked to them and their impacts and are probably going to be one of the rarest collection items you'll ever own. Impactite is a slag-like glassy object found on the surface of the earth, formed from rock melted by the impact of a meteorite.
The term impactite encompasses shock-metamorphosed target rocks, melts or suevites and mixtures of the two, as well as sedimentary rocks with significant impact-derived components and shocked mineral grains, tektites, anomalous geochemical signatures, etc. This impactite was formed 14.5 million years ago in Malmian or Jurassic limestone when a meteorite crashed into the earth making a ~10 miles wide crater named the Ries crater in Germany. This gorgeous end piece displays very well and shows typical inclusions of glass bomb as the dark material and crystalline fragments visible throughout the specimen showing the stages of shock metamorphism.
It is amazingly light considering its mass of 122.9 x 79 x 9.4 mm. Would be a beautiful addition to any new or existing collection. Comes with a Canagem Collection specimen card.

$59.00 CAD
Unit price perThis is a stunning Henbury classified meteorite weighing approx. 7 grams. Its dimensions are 22x14x7 mm. This Iron (IIIAB) Medium Octahedrite classified meteorite was found in the Northern Territory of Australia in 1931. So far approximately 2T of this material have been recovered. This piece displays extremely well. This Australian find is very well shaped and preserved. These pieces are becoming more difficult to acquire so this is a good time to get a fine specimen.
Henbury fell 8 miles southwest of the town of Henbury, Australia almost 10,000 years ago. RA Alderman investigated the site in May 1931 based upon Aborigine stories. He found 13 craters, the largest of which was 720 x 360 feet. Few meteorites were found in the largest three craters indicating an explosive impact. Some of the Henbury meteorites are shrapnel shaped indicating this explosive ending and some have smooth edges indicating abrasion by an atmospheric passage.
